Efficient DNA purification from cells: Automated workflows with sbeadex Lightning and CyBio FeliX

Here, we have demonstrated the successful automation of the sbeadexTM Lightning Cell DNA Purification Kit on the CyBio FeliX platform, showcasing a powerful integration of the advanced magnetic bead chemistry from LGC with Analytik Jena’s flexible platform for automated liquid handling. This integration significantly reduces processing time by enabling simultaneous purification of up to 96 samples without manual intervention on the CyBio FeliX, while the sbeadexTM Lightning chemistry streamlines the workflow with fewer wash steps than conventional methods (summarized in Figure 6). The optimized protocols enable rapid and reliable DNA purification from both low and high cell inputs, with tailored options to meet specific workflow needs, whether prioritizing speed, DNA concentration, or total yield. The results confirm that this combined solution delivers high-quality, intact DNA suitable for downstream
applications, such as qPCR and NGS, making it an ideal choice for an automated laboratory environment.
